As of February 14, 2025, Pakistan’s Babar Azam has equaled the record for the fastest to 6,000 runs in One Day International (ODI) cricket. He achieved this milestone in his 123rd innings during the Tri-Nation series final against New Zealand at the National Stadium in Karachi.
This accomplishment matches the record previously set by South Africa’s Hashim Amla, who also reached 6,000 ODI runs in 123 innings. Babar Azam has surpassed India’s Virat Kohli, who reached the same milestone in 136 innings.
Additionally, Babar Azam is now the fastest Asian player to reach 6,000 ODI runs and the 11th Pakistani batter to achieve this feat.
This achievement underscores Babar Azam’s exceptional performance and consistency in ODI cricket, but unfortunately he is not in form nowadays.
