
As of March 11, 2025, only three batsmen have surpassed 14,000 runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs):
1. Sachin Tendulkar (India):
The all-time leading run-scorer in ODIs, Tendulkar, one of the best batsman in the world, amassed 18,426 runs over his illustrious career. On June 29, 2006, Tendulkar became the first player to reach 14,000 ODI runs during a match against Pakistan in Peshawar. He achieved this milestone with a century, scoring 93 runs in that game.
2. Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka):
Sangakkara, a great Sri Lankan Legendary batter, accumulated 14,234 ODI runs before retiring in 2015. During the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, Sangakkara surpassed 14,000 ODI runs. He achieved this milestone with a century against Australia on March 8, 2015.
3. Virat Kohli (India):
On February 23, 2025, Kohli became the third player to surpass the 14,000-run mark in ODIs, achieving this milestone with an unbeaten century against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy. Virat Kohli is now in great form and getting runs and achieving milestones day. Earlier he was failed to score some big in the past innings.
Notably, Kohli reached this milestone in 287 innings, making him the fastest to do so, surpassing Tendulkar’s 299 innings. These players are the role model for the current players and domestic and under-19 players.
